Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HoloDex mobile application, website, web application, and related services, features, content, tools, and community features, collectively referred to as the "Service".

The Service is operated by Mavelli FZCO ("HoloDex", "we", "our", or "us").

By downloading, accessing, creating an account, subscribing to, or using HoloDex, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

1. The Service

HoloDex is a trading card collection management platform designed to help users scan, identify, organize, value, track, and share trading card collections.

The Service may include features that allow users to:

  • Scan and identify trading cards using their device camera
  • Add cards to a digital collection or portfolio
  • Track estimated card values and market prices
  • View collection analytics, profits, losses, and portfolio performance
  • Use AI-assisted tools, including card identification and card grading estimates
  • Create a profile and customize public or private collection details
  • Follow other users and interact with community features
  • Share cards, collections, wishlists, screenshots, and other collection-related content
  • Receive updates, offers, promotions, giveaways, and personalized recommendations
  • Access premium features through paid subscriptions or in-app purchases

We may add, remove, modify, limit, or discontinue any feature at any time. Some features may be available only in certain countries, on certain platforms, or to users with an active subscription.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use HoloDex, or older if required by the laws of your country or region.

If you are under the age of majority in your country, you may only use the Service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

By using HoloDex, you confirm that:

  • You meet the eligibility requirements
  • You are legally allowed to use the Service
  • The information you provide is accurate and up to date
  • You will use the Service only in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws

We may refuse access, suspend accounts, or terminate accounts if we believe a user does not meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration and Security

To use certain features of HoloDex, you may need to create an account.

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account information
  • Keep your login credentials secure
  • Not share your account with others
  • Not create an account using false information
  • Not impersonate another person, company, creator, brand, or entity
  • Promptly notify us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission

You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account unless the activity was caused by our own security failure.

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account if we believe your account is being used in a way that violates these Terms, creates risk for HoloDex or other users, or may be unlawful.

4. License to Use HoloDex

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use HoloDex for your own personal, non-commercial collecting purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, sell, rent, lease, sublicense, or distribute the Service
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to extract source code
  • Use the Service to build a competing product or service
  • Use automated tools, bots, scrapers, crawlers, or data extraction methods without our written permission
  • Interfere with, overload, damage, or disrupt the Service
  • Circumvent paywalls, usage limits, security systems, subscription restrictions, or access controls
  • Use HoloDex in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation

All rights not expressly granted to you remain reserved by HoloDex and Mavelli FZCO.

5. App Store and Google Play Terms

If you download HoloDex through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, your use of the app may also be subject to the terms and policies of Apple or Google.

Subscriptions, in-app purchases, refunds, billing, and cancellation processes may be handled by Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or other third-party providers. We do not control all billing decisions made by app stores or payment processors.

Apple's standard app terms include a limited, non-transferable license to use an app on Apple-branded products that you own or control, subject to Apple's usage rules.

If there is a conflict between these Terms and the applicable app store terms, the app store terms may apply only to the extent required by that platform.

6. Subscriptions, Paid Features, and In-App Purchases

HoloDex may offer free features and paid features. Paid features may include subscriptions, one-time purchases, usage-based features, trials, or premium tools.

By purchasing a subscription or paid feature, you agree to the price, billing cycle, renewal terms, and any other terms displayed at the time of purchase.

Unless stated otherwise:

  • Subscriptions may automatically renew
  • You are responsible for cancelling your subscription before the renewal date
  • Deleting the app does not automatically cancel your subscription
  • Refunds are handled by the platform or payment provider used for the purchase
  • Some paid features may depend on server availability, third-party services, and account status

We may change prices, features, or subscription plans from time to time. If required, we will notify users before material changes take effect.

7. Card Scanning and Image Processing

HoloDex allows users to scan trading cards using their device camera.

By using the scanning feature, you agree that:

  • You grant HoloDex permission to access your device camera for card scanning
  • Scan results depend on image quality, lighting, card condition, angle, background, database availability, and other factors
  • Scan results may not always be accurate
  • Some cards, variants, languages, sets, promos, or special editions may not be recognized correctly
  • Scanned images may be temporarily processed or stored on our servers to provide the Service
  • Scanned images remain your content, but we may process them as needed to operate and improve the Service

We do not guarantee that every scan will correctly identify a card, variant, set, language, foil type, edition, or market value.

The scanning feature is provided "as is" and may be changed, limited, paused, or discontinued at any time.

8. AI Features and AI Grading

HoloDex may offer AI-assisted features, including AI card identification, AI grading estimates, condition analysis, image analysis, collection insights, or other automated tools.

You understand and agree that:

  • AI results are estimates only
  • AI grading is not an official grading service
  • AI grading does not replace professional grading by companies such as PSA, BGS, CGC, or other grading providers
  • AI results may vary depending on photo quality, lighting, glare, sleeves, reflections, card positioning, image resolution, and visible damage
  • AI tools may make mistakes
  • AI results should not be treated as a guarantee of card value, authenticity, condition, resale price, or professional grade

You are responsible for independently verifying any important information before buying, selling, trading, grading, or valuing a card.

We may use submitted images, scan results, correction data, and interaction data to improve card recognition, AI accuracy, database quality, and overall app performance, subject to our Privacy Policy.

9. Market Prices, Portfolio Values, and Collection Data

HoloDex may display estimated card prices, portfolio values, market trends, profits, losses, analytics, and related information.

You understand and agree that:

  • Prices are estimates only
  • Market data may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or unavailable
  • Different marketplaces may show different prices
  • Card condition, language, edition, grading, demand, seller reputation, shipping, taxes, and local market differences may affect actual value
  • HoloDex does not guarantee that a card can be bought or sold at the displayed price
  • Portfolio values are informational and may not reflect actual resale value

HoloDex does not provide financial, investment, trading, tax, or legal advice. You are responsible for your own buying, selling, trading, collecting, and financial decisions.

10. Social and Community Features

HoloDex may include social or community features that allow users to interact with each other or share collection-related content.

These features may include:

  • Public or private user profiles
  • Usernames, avatars, bios, and profile details
  • Public collection pages
  • Shared cards, wishlists, sets, portfolios, screenshots, or collection highlights
  • Follower and following features
  • Likes, reactions, comments, replies, messages, tags, or mentions
  • Community feeds, leaderboards, rankings, showcases, or discovery pages
  • Notifications related to social activity

When you use social features, certain information may become visible to other users, depending on your settings and the feature used. This may include your username, profile photo, public collection content, shared cards, followers, following list, community activity, and other information you choose to make public.

You are responsible for the content you share and the way you interact with other users.

Do not share personal information that you do not want other users to see.

11. User Content

"User Content" means any content that you upload, submit, post, display, share, create, or otherwise make available through HoloDex.

User Content may include:

  • Profile information
  • Usernames and avatars
  • Card images
  • Collection details
  • Wishlists
  • Comments
  • Messages
  • Reviews
  • Reports
  • Shared screenshots
  • Public posts
  • Community interactions
  • Any other content submitted through the Service

You retain ownership of your User Content. However, by submitting User Content to HoloDex, you grant HoloDex a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, display, publish, modify, adapt, distribute, promote, and otherwise use your User Content as needed to operate, improve, market, and provide the Service.

This license allows us to:

  • Display your content in the app
  • Show your public content to other users
  • Create previews, thumbnails, screenshots, or shareable formats
  • Moderate, review, or remove content
  • Promote community features or app functionality
  • Improve scanning, database quality, AI systems, and user experience
  • Store backups or records where reasonably necessary

This license ends when your User Content is deleted from the Service, except where:

  • The content has already been shared with others
  • The content remains in backup systems for a limited period
  • We need to retain the content for legal, safety, fraud prevention, enforcement, or legitimate business reasons
  • The content has been used in aggregated, anonymized, or non-identifying form

You represent that you have the necessary rights to upload and share your User Content and that your User Content does not violate the rights of others.

12. Public Content and Visibility

Some HoloDex features may allow you to make content public.

Public content may be visible to other users and may be discoverable through feeds, profiles, search, collection pages, rankings, notifications, or shared links.

Public content may include:

  • Username
  • Profile image
  • Bio
  • Public collection items
  • Public card showcases
  • Public wishlist items
  • Followers and following activity
  • Comments, likes, reactions, or other interactions
  • Shared screenshots or collection pages

You are responsible for reviewing your settings and understanding what content you choose to share.

We may allow users to change privacy settings for certain features, but we cannot guarantee that all content previously seen, saved, screenshotted, shared, or accessed by others can be fully removed from outside the Service.

13. Community Rules and Acceptable Use

To keep HoloDex safe, useful, and focused on trading card collecting, you agree not to post, share, promote, or engage in content or behavior that:

  • Is illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading
  • Promotes scams, fake giveaways, counterfeit goods, phishing, or impersonation
  • Harasses, threatens, abuses, intimidates, or bullies another person
  • Contains hate speech, discriminatory content, or attacks based on protected characteristics
  • Contains sexually explicit, pornographic, or highly graphic content
  • Exploits or endangers minors
  • Encourages violence, self-harm, terrorism, or criminal activity
  • Shares private information about another person without permission
  • Infringes copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights, publicity rights, or other rights
  • Impersonates HoloDex, Mavelli FZCO, staff, creators, brands, grading companies, marketplaces, or other users
  • Manipulates rankings, reviews, followers, likes, engagement, giveaways, or app systems
  • Uses bots, scripts, scrapers, fake accounts, or automation without permission
  • Uploads malware, harmful code, spam, or unwanted promotions
  • Attempts to sell accounts, user data, access, exploits, or unauthorized services
  • Interferes with the normal operation, security, or integrity of the Service
  • Is unrelated to trading cards, collecting, or the intended purpose of HoloDex

We may remove, restrict, hide, downrank, disable, or moderate content that violates these Terms or that we believe may create legal, safety, operational, reputational, or community risk.

14. Reporting, Blocking, and Moderation

HoloDex may provide tools that allow users to report content, report users, block users, hide content, or manage social interactions.

You may report content or behavior that you believe violates these Terms, infringes your rights, or is unlawful.

We may review reports using automated systems, human review, or a combination of both. We may take action including:

  • Removing content
  • Restricting content visibility
  • Warning users
  • Disabling social features
  • Suspending or terminating accounts
  • Blocking users from certain actions
  • Reporting serious violations to relevant authorities where legally required
  • Taking no action if we determine there is no violation

We are not required to monitor all content before it is posted. However, we reserve the right to review, moderate, remove, or restrict any content at our discretion.

Where required by law, users may have the right to receive information about certain moderation decisions or request a review of certain decisions.

15. User Disputes

You are responsible for your interactions with other users.

HoloDex is not responsible for disputes between users, including disputes related to:

  • Comments
  • Messages
  • Followers
  • Shared collections
  • Trades
  • Sales
  • Card condition
  • Authenticity
  • Payment
  • Shipping
  • Giveaways
  • Off-platform communication

We may assist with enforcement of our Terms, but we are not obligated to mediate disputes or compensate users for losses caused by other users.

16. Trading, Selling, and Marketplace Activity

HoloDex may allow users to list, share, trade, sell, or express interest in trading card-related goods. Some marketplace, trade, or sale features may be added, removed, restricted, or made available only in certain regions.

Unless we expressly state otherwise, HoloDex is not the buyer, seller, broker, auctioneer, payment processor, shipping provider, escrow provider, authenticator, or grading provider for user transactions.

You understand and agree that:

  • Users are responsible for their own transactions
  • HoloDex does not guarantee card authenticity, condition, grade, value, delivery, payment, or seller reliability
  • HoloDex does not guarantee that listings or offers are accurate
  • Users should independently verify cards, sellers, buyers, prices, shipping, taxes, and legal requirements
  • Transactions may carry risk, including scams, counterfeit cards, non-delivery, chargebacks, and disputes

We may restrict or remove marketplace-related content if we believe it violates these Terms, creates risk, or may be fraudulent.

If HoloDex later introduces a formal marketplace, additional terms may apply.

17. Promotions, Giveaways, Sweepstakes, and Contests

From time to time, HoloDex or Mavelli FZCO may offer promotions, giveaways, sweepstakes, contests, or similar campaigns, collectively referred to as "Promotions".

Each Promotion may have its own official rules, eligibility requirements, deadlines, prize details, entry methods, and restrictions. If specific Promotion rules conflict with these Terms, the specific Promotion rules will apply for that Promotion.

Unless stated otherwise:

  • Promotions are open only to users who are at least 18 years old
  • Promotions may be limited by country, region, platform, or legal requirements
  • Employees, contractors, partners, affiliates, and immediate family members of Mavelli FZCO may be excluded
  • No purchase is necessary to enter
  • Buying a subscription or paid feature does not increase your chances of winning
  • Winners may be selected randomly or according to the rules of the Promotion
  • Prizes are non-transferable and not redeemable for cash unless stated otherwise
  • We may substitute a prize with another prize of equal or greater value
  • Winners are responsible for taxes, customs duties, import fees, and local legal requirements
  • We may cancel, modify, or suspend a Promotion due to fraud, technical issues, legal concerns, or circumstances outside our control

Free Entry Option

If a Promotion allows automatic entry through an in-app action, subscription, or other paid-related action, we will also provide a free alternative entry method where required.

Unless a specific Promotion provides another method, users may enter without purchase by sending a postcard with:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Country of residence
  • Name of the Promotion
  • Answer to the skill-testing question: What is 4 + 3?

Free entries must be postmarked and received before the Promotion deadline. Late, incomplete, duplicate, fraudulent, or unreadable entries may be disqualified.

Where legally required, winners may need to correctly answer a skill-testing question before receiving a prize.

18. Third-Party Services, Links, and Data Sources

HoloDex may include or rely on third-party services, platforms, APIs, marketplaces, analytics providers, payment processors, authentication providers, cloud services, price data providers, card databases, AI services, or external links.

We are not responsible for:

  • Third-party websites or services
  • Third-party content or availability
  • Third-party pricing data or market data
  • Third-party payment decisions
  • Third-party authentication issues
  • Third-party outages or errors
  • Third-party terms, privacy policies, or practices

Your use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and policies.

19. Intellectual Property Rights

All rights, title, and interest in HoloDex, including the app, website, software, code, design, features, user interface, branding, logo, trademarks, graphics, databases, systems, AI tools, and proprietary technology, are owned by Mavelli FZCO or its licensors.

You may not use our intellectual property without written permission, including:

  • HoloDex names, logos, icons, branding, or visuals
  • App screenshots for misleading or commercial purposes
  • Domain names, social handles, or branding that may confuse users
  • Copying our design, features, database structure, or app experience
  • Creating derivative works based on our Service

Nothing in these Terms gives you ownership of HoloDex or our intellectual property.

20. Feedback and Suggestions

If you send us ideas, suggestions, bug reports, feature requests, improvements, or other feedback, you agree that we may use them without restriction or compensation to you.

This includes using feedback to improve, modify, develop, market, or commercialize HoloDex.

21. Service Availability and Updates

We aim to keep HoloDex reliable and useful, but we do not guarantee that the Service will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error-free.

The Service may be affected by:

  • Maintenance
  • Bugs
  • Server issues
  • App store review delays
  • Third-party outages
  • Internet problems
  • Device compatibility issues
  • Database limitations
  • AI processing delays
  • Security incidents
  • Changes to external APIs or data sources

We may release updates, patches, changes, or new versions of HoloDex. Some updates may be required to continue using the Service.

22. Account Deletion and Data Removal

You may delete your account through the app where available, or by contacting us.

After an account deletion request:

  • We will begin processing the request within a reasonable period
  • Some data may be deleted, anonymized, or retained as permitted by law
  • Deletion from active systems may take time
  • Backup deletion may take longer
  • Some content may remain visible if it was shared with others, copied, screenshotted, included in reports, or retained for legal or safety reasons

We may retain certain information where necessary for:

  • Legal compliance
  • Fraud prevention
  • Security
  • Dispute resolution
  • Enforcement of these Terms
  • Tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations
  • Protecting the rights, safety, and integrity of HoloDex, users, or third parties

23. Suspension, Restriction, and Termination

We may suspend, restrict, disable, or terminate your access to HoloDex if we believe that:

  • You violated these Terms
  • You violated applicable law
  • Your account creates legal, safety, security, operational, or reputational risk
  • Your activity appears fraudulent, abusive, automated, or harmful
  • You misuse social, scanning, AI, marketplace, giveaway, or subscription features
  • You infringe the rights of HoloDex, users, or third parties
  • We are required to do so by law, court order, regulator, app store, or payment provider

We may also remove or restrict specific content, features, or account capabilities without terminating your full account.

You may stop using HoloDex at any time.

Termination does not affect any rights, obligations, or liabilities that arose before termination.

24. Disclaimers

HoloDex is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, or statutory, including warranties of:

  • Accuracy
  • Reliability
  • Availability
  • Fitness for a particular purpose
  • Merchantability
  • Non-infringement
  • Security
  • Error-free operation
  • Uninterrupted access

We do not guarantee that:

  • The Service will always work
  • Card scans will always be correct
  • AI results will always be accurate
  • Market prices will always reflect real-world values
  • Collection values will match resale values
  • User content will always be available
  • Social features will be free from objectionable content
  • Third-party services will function properly
  • Bugs or errors will be fixed immediately

You use HoloDex at your own risk.

25. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mavelli FZCO, HoloDex, its officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including damages for:

  • Lost profits
  • Lost revenue
  • Lost data
  • Lost collection value
  • Lost business opportunities
  • Losses from inaccurate card identification
  • Losses from inaccurate AI grading
  • Losses from inaccurate price data
  • User disputes
  • Failed trades or sales
  • Subscription or billing issues handled by third parties
  • Service interruptions
  • Unauthorized access
  • Third-party services
  • Content posted by users

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid to HoloDex for the Service in the 12 months before the claim arose, or 100 USD if you paid nothing.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those cases, the limitations will apply to the fullest extent permitted by law.

26. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Mavelli FZCO, HoloDex, its officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, and licensors from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising from or related to:

  • Your use of HoloDex
  • Your User Content
  • Your interactions with other users
  • Your trades, sales, listings, or marketplace activity
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of applicable law
  • Your infringement of another person's rights
  • Your misuse of scanning, AI, social, giveaway, or subscription features
  • Fraudulent, deceptive, or unlawful activity connected to your account

27. Privacy

Your use of HoloDex is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect personal data.

By using HoloDex, you acknowledge that we may process your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

28. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in:

  • Our Service
  • Social features
  • AI features
  • Subscription features
  • Legal obligations
  • Platform requirements
  • Business operations
  • Security practices

If we make material changes, we may notify you through the app, email, website, or another reasonable method.

Your continued use of HoloDex after the updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.

29. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, disputes relating to these Terms or the Service will be subject to the courts of Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

30. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue in full force and effect.

The invalid or unenforceable provision will be interpreted or replaced in a way that best achieves its original purpose while remaining enforceable.

31. No Waiver

If we do not enforce a part of these Terms immediately, that does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.

Any waiver must be in writing to be effective.
